After a 5-year run on the University of Arizona's campus, Damascus Road's Cinema+Spirit Film Series is taking a year-long hiatus to reboot and decide if it's still needed in Tucson.
The Cinema+Spirit Film Series showed current and modern classic films and provided an opportunity to discuss each film's themes and spiritual ramifications. Films were shown monthly when classes are in session.
We enjoy watching movies and processing them together, discovering how God’s truth may be revealed through their themes or characters. Since movies are a part of our popular culture, they can be a helpful common ground when discussing spiritual topics.
Past Cinema+Spirit selections include: I Heart Huckabees, Donnie Darko, Proof, Crash, The Village, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, What Dreams May Come, Syriana, V for Vendetta, Click, Elf, The Illusionist, Little Miss Sunshine, Why We Fight, Casino Royale, I Am Legend, Children of Men, Iron Man, Once, Doubt, I Am Legend, Where the Wild Things Are, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and Star Trek.
