The center of following Jesus is about loving God and loving others and the two ideas go hand in hand. We can’t love God well without loving the people who are at the center of His heart. God teaches us what true love is so we can love others in service and sacrifice just as he loved us. To love others well we must be willing and able to say 5 key phrases. In these phrases we get to the heart of love and community. Join us for the next five weeks as we explore how to speak love into our friends lives.

  Please Forgive Me
Better than "I'm sorry," which can often be followed with an "if" or a "but," these words indicate a humble heart. We can not hide our faults and pretend if we want real relationships that impact or friends. Good friends know they are sinners and admit it.

  You're Right

Good friends know they are not always/usually the smartest, most "spiritual" person in the room. They are zealous to give credit and acknowledge achievement and intelligence, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it encourages and empowers others.

  You're Wrong

Bad friends chicken out when it comes to calling out people on sin or ignorance. Good friends brave potential conflict and hurt feelings and say, "You're wrong," in gentle but firm ways, when necessary.

Jesus Loves You (Service held in El Portal Saguaro Room)

Why did we stop saying this? I think because it became cliché. Let’s recover the art of "Jesus loves you" strategically said at times of others' admissions of failure, sin, or trouble, "Jesus loves you" is a fantastic way to speak the gospel into people's lives.

  I Love You

I think one reason we stopped saying "Jesus loves you" to people is because we don't really love them ourselves. Might as well save the hypocrisy, eh? Telling people you love them is a reminder to them and to you that sacrificial love is your calling.
